April brings fond memories of Easter Holidays, and I love the beginning of the ‘green tide’ as buds appear and transform into bright tiny leaves as mother nature continues to wake from her wintery slumber. There’s often a chill in the air to steady our excitement of warmer months to come. April 2nd April also marks day 11 on lockdown, so any visits I have to nature are limited and to be treasured. Fingers cross we are free again to experience Spring in full blast in May.

If you venture out, then Violets are a treat. Their purple glimmer in a woodland glade is one of the highlights of Spring for me.

Swallows are starting to arrive as another potent symbol of the coming of Spring. They have flown almost 10,000 km to be with us.

Another treat I am giving myself during lockdown is to rise early and listen to the dawn chorus – I am not very good at identifying bird song – perhaps they are robins, blackbirds, a thrush, wren?

When we come out of lockdown, where will you head to catch a sense of peace and space in nature?
